I went and got the update... and now I can't get in.

In various towns/districts, or any mission, I can't get in. It sits at the Connecting screen for 30-45sec then I get something about a networking or routing error and a code=05.... I can't do anything.

I only get the first half of the guildwars sign in and thats it and the second half on the right hand side wont even pop up im on the eastern of the us its weird was working fine this afternoon finished the deep now i cant even log in its annyoing

Good MAD King - It's not a code issue. I wholly believe it's a network server, 'load balance' issue. Everyone's logged on, everyone's coming to play, ANet can't handle the traffic, so there are outages, and their crappy network structure ties everything together, so a string of dominoes fall (and Ascalon, Tyria, and the rest of the GW universe with it).

It amounts to the same thing as your post suggests - decent people not in charge. Architects are needed. They can't handle the pressure, the system of servers. Everyone came cause it's the weekend and there's a special event and the server balance is out of whack. Now everyone keeps trying to log on and it's gonna take hours for them to find some bandwidth free to let us in.

Sigh.

Yesterday there was a message on the login screen about an emergency network update. I of course did not read this and logged straight in.
Did anybody take notice of when this was meant to occur?

I know what the problem is. The WoW people have resorted to suicide bombing our servers. Their level 60s pwn our level 20s in their suicide stuff.

All that message was saying was that European servers were having problems and they were doing maintenance on it. Supposedly they'd fixed it, and that's why they removed the message in the News list.

whenever i try to login into gw, it doesnt direct me to any servers. i tried disabling my firewall n stuff but it doesnt work. n i also already reconfigure my firewall to allow gw to connect to the internet n it still doesnt work. anyone have any idea what to do?
